Law has always been one of the most fascinating subjects for me. The idea that it underlies and influences everything that happens in society is truly remarkable. The law affects every single person in everything they do. It is a fundamental aspect in our ever-changing society and essential for protecting rights, maintaining order, resolving disputes, shaping moral standards and maintaining social justice. My love for the law grew when I was young when I read many crime and mystery books. Even though they were just fictions that did not clearly describe the complexity of the law, I have since been inspired to study law. Collaborating with my knowledge of sociology, politics and psychology I can see the impact the law has on society. Sociology dictates how policies have affected lives, such as equal pay law and how the amount of women working has increased, which in turn has increased family diversity and equality within couples . Get an Original Essay The Compulsory Education Law has affected the future of every child by ensuring that they are educated and can get a good job. This has reduced the amount of crime committed by young people as they are no longer unemployed and bored. Psychology taught me the importance of social influence and how studies of eyewitness testimony and leading questions have improved investigation and interrogation techniques. Politics was the most influential topic in my desire to learn more about the law. It taught me how laws are created, how court cases are handled, and how our government works. He highlighted the importance of civil rights and liberties and how these are protected by the government. I did work experience in a primary school where I shadowed the teacher by observing how they worked to support the children. There were many challenges in my way when it came to working with lower ability students, many of whom had learning difficulties. This experience showed me the importance of patience and understanding when working with different ages. It taught me that communication is key in the workplace, to be able to listen but also successfully convey your opinions. Every day at school was different with new tasks and this quickly became something I looked forward to doing every day. I am also a sociology ambassador for AS students, meeting weekly and summarizing AS content. For me it was a form of revision, but it also gave me time management skills as I had to spend my time teaching other colleagues. I also completed the Bronze Award for the Duke of Edinburgh, which taught me excellent teamwork skills. It boosted my confidence, as you had to take on the leadership role to complete the expedition. This also gave me accountability, as someone the other members of my team could count on. For the past six years I have been pursuing a degree in Islamic theology in the evenings and attend classes every week for three hours after school. The greatest skill it taught me was how to balance my work in a healthy way. It also taught me how to deal with stress and pressure, as there were times when I had exams in school but also in the madrasa. Time management will be useful in my course to juggle exams and extracurricular activities. In high school, I worked with different organizations every quarter, raising money.
