The Rococo fashion period occurred during the 18th century in Europe and other European-influenced countries. (History of Fashion-Rococo). France, as the primary arbiter of Rococo fashion, designed using exquisite fabrics, silks, velvets, embroidery, lace, feathers, ribbons, ruffles, and furs that would characterize the century (Fashion in the Western World). The movement is known for incorporating French “rocaille” and Italian “baroque” together to create Rococo, known for being more delicate than the previous 17th century Baroque movement (Fashion History.zee). By studying Rococo fashion you can learn the history and you can easily see that eighteenth century fashion still influences modern fashion.
