Basketball has Michael Jordan, golf has Tiger Woods, boxing has Muhammed Ali and when you think of baseball, the first name that catches your eye is Babe Ruth. His successes in the sport of baseball revamped the way the world viewed baseball. Babe's greatest strength in baseball was his power hitting, which intimidated pitchers because if given the chance, he would hit that ball out of the park. His power and pitching made him unique and an attraction to baseball fans around the world. This newfound excitement for American sports was very important to US citizens of the time due to the country going through the Great Depression to get them through this period, and the power of the Big Bambino was what Americans needed at the time .
