For years there has been a controversy over whether an abortion should not be legal. Many people believe that aborting an unwanted baby or killing an unwanted baby should be against the law. A woman's body is about what she wants. That said, on the topic of abortions, I agree. Furthermore, in countries such as the Dominican Republic, Colombia and Egypt, abortion is illegal. It therefore does not include those who have been raped in order to have an abortion. Rape victims should be able to undergo abortion. Women should not be forced to explain or justify to anyone why they want an abortion. “There are only two ways to think about abortion: either a woman has the right to decide not to be pregnant anymore, or other people think they have the right to make the decision for her (Carmon, Irin).” It is very difficult for a mother to have a child who is a victim of rape. The day in which that cruel man took away her innocence will repeat itself over and over again and the little girl will help remember that horrible moment. The woman who was raped will not want the child as a keepsake. Being raped is a terrible trauma as it is and a raped victim should be able to have an abortion. The individual did not choose to be raped. A woman raped and then forced to carry the child until delivery could be tragic for both mother and child. For example, if a 15 year old girl was raped and then forced to keep the child. Would most people let a 15 year old adopt a child if she wanted to? No, simply because she is immature and not ready to take care of a child on her own. That being said, would you expect a 15 year old to give birth to a child and keep it? If a 15 year old child cannot adopt a child, the... middle of paper... in the country. Therefore this may be a reason why the mother should not be able to complete the procedure. Their child can be a positive influence that will leave an impact on the Earth and make a difference in the world. “A child born from rape has the same right to life as any other child. However, abortion ends the life of an innocent unborn human being (Napolitano, Andrew P).”I believe that women have the right to have an abortion. Their body is theirs and they get to do with what they want. Although most people do not know their situation, the woman would know what is right for herself. For example, not being able to take care of the child on a psychological and emotional level. Some may argue that abortion for rape victims is a horrible idea, however, those who have not experienced the physical and emotional harm should have no say in what they should do with their bodies..
