There is a mysterious concept behind the art of ballet. It is often said that ballet represents the beauty and artistic values of multiple generations. The shows exhibited in the land of Paris represented a sense of richness but later evolved into the narration of different movements. In the year 1877, painter Edgar Degas combined his rebellious visions with traditional techniques to create one of my favorite paintings; the Paris Opera Ballet. Through this combination, Degas managed to portray a sense of balance in his artwork. During Degas' downfall on the Paris art scene, he captured ballet as a romantic sense and tone. Due to Degas's unorthodox ways, his techniques appear to date back to the post-Romantic era. This famous painting leaves room for inspiration. Primarily through the use of smearing, body positioning, and the use of transparent colors, "Ballet at the Paris Opera" conveys Degas's realistic interpretation of dance as a legitimate art form. The form of this painting is based on the impact Degas has on the three dancers at the top left of the stage. Overall I considered the form of this painting to be structurally disorganized. Because of the way Degas tried to include all angles of this performance, the artwork gives it a discontinuous visual structure. I believe Degas chose to include the heads of audience members, it portrays a crowded shape to the naked eye. In essence, “Ballet at the Paris Opera,” shows viewers a glimpse into Parisian social activities such as opera ballet performances. Degas' style is very distinctive in this painting. In relation to the Impressionist movement, Degas' style in the “Paris Opera Ballet” actually emphasizes... the medium of paper......and the past views of this painting are the same as the views of modern art . It was and still is an example of entertainment and enlightenment. This painting is anything but religious and that is a very clear statement. Degas' painting has a secular motif and was meant to be placed in entertaining rooms such as family rooms. I think it's a discussion image. Overall, the artwork as a whole seems to boil down to showing ballet as an art form in the light of a painting. The artwork seems to signify that the emotion and creativity of ballet can be expressed in an illustrated form of painting and not just a routine performance. In a sense, viewers should experience Degas's painting “Ballet at the Paris Opera” as an experience in itself. Not based on the judgment of critics but instead determining the value of the painting through sight, touch and understanding.
