One is known by his occupation, what he does, and what he refrains from doing. The yakuza is a large criminal organization that has thousands of members around the world. They originated in Japan and have since slowly moved around the world to many different countries; today they also have members in the United States. *The yakuza is a highly organized criminal organization that places great importance on respect and honor and seeks revenge when it does not receive it, is involved in several types of crimes and has some characteristics that separate it from other organizations.*Based on this that was depicted in both films, the fate of the yakuza is in the hands of others. By this I mean that you never know who will betray you at any given moment, whether it's your brother or a rival family member. In Outrage, there is a scene where the underboss apologizes to Mr. Otomo for mistakenly asking a member of the Ikemoto family for money. The sub-boss says, “please accept these as a token of our apologies.” The underboss brought them the finger of the man who disrespected them as a sign of gratitude, so that they would accept their apology; however the Ikemoto family was not satisfied and expected more. One of the Ikemoto family members orders the underboss to cut off his finger, which was not part of the deal. It all boils down to the respect factor demanded by the gang, in this scene we saw how when a member wrongly disrespected the family, they expected some kind of payment in return. Otomo wants revenge against all those who offend or wrong him. Like many other gangs, the yakuza do not take disrespect lightly and this leads to violence. With all this n... half the paper... aside from others, if members of the organization have caused problems, such as getting arrested or causing embarrassment to the organization, they should pay in a very brutal way; usually the small finger of his left hand was cut off, other failures can lead to the loss of other knuckles. The yakuza are a powerful violent criminal organization and Kitano did a great job portraying them in both of these films. Both films were very captivating and narratively compelling and at the same time very violent, yet still represented respect, honor and revenge within the yakuza organization.
