Many of them lack basic services such as clean water and sanitation. About 63% of the population lives on less than $1 a day. Although the economy is growing, poverty is expected to decrease rather than increase. As a poor man in Ethiopia said, poverty is like heat, you can't see it, you can only feel it, so to know poverty you have to go through it. This was cited by Narayan, Chambers, Shah & Petesch 2000:33} (Swanepoel & De Beer 2006). Poverty is the lack of some essential opportunities; it is the lack of basic services that prevents the person or family from contributing physically or emotionally adequately to society. Children are seen as the most vulnerable in society; Approximately 15 million Nigerian children are involved in child labor, which has a direct impact on their academic performance. In some cases, the family tends to force their children to work in factories for the survival of the family. Separation between poor parents is also another example where children are left to fend for themselves (Okpukpara et al 2006). According to the Mefor law, child poverty can be considered as long-term morbidity and mortality. Children living in Lagos State, Nigeria's megacity have suffered an emotional breakdown, if a poor child struggles and makes it to the future, he or she will still be classified as a disadvantage despite the financial turnaround. Poverty has caused many negative effects on children (M...... middle of paper ...... make sure you do not cause psychological harm or attempt to inflict psychological pain on my participants because the negative effects of youth poverty it is quite a sensitive topic to discuss, especially when they are also parents. At the end of the research, I have to show good manners by identifying what my participants have done for me (Blaxter et al 2001).
