The Sunshine State Choosing a vacation destination can be difficult. When deciding on a destination there are many things to consider. Two of the most important considerations are climate and available activities. California is one of the most sought-after destinations for many people. California is also known as the “Sunshine State”. The beautiful state has many things to offer families, couples and singles. Top places visited in Southern California include many popular entertainment and sightseeing tours. Some of the best places are Disneyland, the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Hollywood Boulevard, and Catalina Island. These are some of Southern California's top attractions. Ultimately, the place you choose to visit will be a personal choice. Southern California is considered one of the best year-round destinations in the United States. There is a short rainy season, which falls in the months of December, January and February. The average rainfall in Southern California is twelve inches and 90% of the rain will occur during these three months. The average temperature range is between sixty-eight and eighty-three. Temperatures can vary by up to twenty degrees depending on the area of Southern California. Coastal areas near the ocean are cooler while inland areas are warmer due to Santa Ana winds. Fog may occur in June due to arid winds drawing moisture from the ocean. This can sometimes be called “June Gloom”. The fog generally dissipates, in the sun, around noon each day. Fog in June tends to make mornings cooler and afternoons and evenings warmer. Disneyland is known to be the happiest place on earth. Walt Disney is the founder of this amusement park. Walt had......half a sheet of paper......g tour or $13.00 to ride through the grounds. At the end of the gardens there is a memorial to Mr Wrigley. He died in 1932 and is buried in the tower within the garden. The garden is a few hundred meters from his residence. In the center of the island there is a town called Avalon which has shops and restaurants. No cars are allowed on the island and the only means of transportation is a golf cart, which can be rented. The island's beauty and slow pace make it a great place to relax and have fun. I think Southern California is a great place to visit because of the beautiful weather and beautiful, fun attractions to visit. This would be a great place for a vacation. I may be a little biased as I was born in Southern California on May 17, 1995 and lived there for the first 10 years of my life. I have many fond memories of the Sunshine State.
