The importance of addressing any inappropriate behavior is that someone could get hurt and that is simply unacceptable. It is important that everyone follows the rules provided, because they are in place for everyone's benefit. Rules and policies keep people safe and in a comfortable environment. Being consistent with the rules is also important, because once you let an incident slip away because it was minor, the next time it will be worse because that student now believes they can get away with it again because you let them get away with it the first time. It is also important because an RA must be fair and enforce the rules for everyone. Everyone must follow all policies, so that everyone is safe at all times. My job is to play a role in the success of the community, and being consistent with policy enforcement helps me do that job
