“Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get", is a famous quote from Forrest Gump. Although this quote refers to life, it could also refer to the career of the actor who plays the main role in this film. Tom Hanks is a man who started with a dream in high school, playing roles in small comedies and rose to the top. At the beginning of his career he took part in Shakespeare films; then, he appeared in a television sitcom; he made his film debut and also got roles starring in hit films everywhere from comedies, fantasies, romances and dramas Throughout his career Tom has also written and produced some of his own films and has also co-directed famous films. Tom's career demonstrated contribution to cinema Hanks proves without a doubt that the Motion Picture Hall of Fame should induct this actor/producer/director/writer. The merit of this award is demonstrated by his achievements, impact and professionalism Hall of Fame is because of his many achievements. Hank won two Best Actor Oscars for his performances in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump and is known for other popular films (Reuters). He also won almost seventy other awards and was nominated for another seventy-nine, not only for acting but also for his other film work (Tom Hanks-Awards). After acting for over thirty-five years, his acting career is still going strong; in fact, Tom was nominated for another Oscar just this year for his performance in the film Captain Phillips.
