Jackson's death in 2009 sparked controversy and was eventually ruled a homicide. The cause of his death was a mixture of the powerful anesthetic propanol and the anxiolytic drug larazepa. Dr. Conrad Murray, who was caring for the pop star at the time of his death, was accused of killing Jackson. Dr. Conrad told investigators that for the past two months he had used propanol almost every day to help him sleep. Murray also said he did not prescribe all the drugs in Jackson's system. Dr. Conrad blames Michael Jackson for his own death. Dr. Conrad was later sentenced to four years in prison.
