The world is changing. As technological discoveries are progressively made, humanity is learning new ways to share knowledge. Education is a sector that has made a technological leap. Due to the effects of technology, the days of whiteboards and overhead projectors are over, and now it is the era of smart boards and document cameras. These new technological innovations have caused a major change in education. Technology has had numerous effects on education. The first effect technology has had on education is the ability of students to learn outside the classroom. Thanks to technology, a student no longer has to rely on the presence of their teacher to learn. Students have the option to use apps for learning. Whenever a person needs to know something, they often turn to an app for assistance. Popular learning apps include apps that teach memorization, apps that teach foreign languages, and apps that teach reading skills. Additionally, YouTube is another example of technology that can be used for learning outside of the classroom. A student can watch a YouTube video to learn many things. YouTube videos can teach a student a math lesson, or a student can learn to play an instrument from a YouTube tutorial. Online classes are also technological innovations that allow students to learn outside the classroom. Online courses are a great example of the effect technology has had on education. Many universities and higher education institutions offer online classes to students. Studies show that over forty percent of college students are enrolled in an online course (“Report: Students Who Take”). With online course technology, a student can earn credits completely from home. Technology... middle of the paper... assistive devices, virtual simulations and interactive websites are being used by teachers to enhance lessons. Lessons are now enhanced by technology. The ability to use technological resources for lessons is one effect that technology has had on education. It is evident that technology has had several effects on education. Students can now be taught outside the classroom and communicate with instructors through technology. Meanwhile, education is enriched with technological resources. These effects of technology have changed education completely. Education and technology now go hand in hand.
