This research assignment proved to be one to remember. It took a lot longer than I initially thought, but I was able to gain a great understanding and appreciation for these electronic resources. Before this assignment, I used the Internet as my only source to gather the necessary information to incorporate into my article, but now that I feel stronger about using other sources such as Google Books and the open library, I know that my articles will be more informative beyond that's more interesting. With access to many primary sources I feel more confident that the information I gather will be accurate and correct unlike some internet sources which sometimes tend to be misleading. With the combination of all these databases and online resources, I know I can write a successful research paper that details the history of gold and how it became valuable. The sources I choose would allow me to create a story of what people saw the value of gold. It would also allow me to use details and even first-hand accounts of the transferability of gold along with the consequences of owning it. In writing this account, I would first describe the discovery of gold, how it became valuable and then lead into how gold shaped the British Empire. My main focus would be empire growth and land conquest because wealth is one of the main driving factors of the British Empire. I would also like to use some analogies such as the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer to persuade the reader that Britain only pursued colonies that would have some time to offer such as land, natural resources, good agriculture, food, labor and , above all, gold.We have learned that throughout history, Britain......middle of paper......would be about. In addition to providing vital information that will help prove my point, there is a huge amount of information about robberies that have occurred or even deaths of many people over gold. One of the reasons I chose gold as a commodity is because I thought the more information I had the easier it would be, but I found that when there is a lot of information there is also a lot more to analyze, which results in a lot information. additional effort to complete the document. The main problem was finding relevant information, but when you have so much it makes the task ten times harder. I can successfully write a research paper on my merchandise, but I would need to reserve a lot of energy to continue doing the homework. Perhaps a product with less information would equate to a simpler research paper as you can prove your point and stick to it with little effort.
