Topic > Research Analysis: A Discussion of the Four Worldviews

IntroductionThis article will provide a hypothetical discussion of how each of the four "worldviews" (post-positivism, constructivism, advocacy/participation, and pragmatism) might apply to the proposed study . You will refer to the document developed during the course RSH9101B (Research Topic, Problem, Purpose and Questions) with the assistance of Dr. Kenneth Gossett, class mentor. The part of the Topic Paper to be used will be the problem statement, which will provide the basis for this discussion and the completion of this assignment. This discussion will ultimately lead to strengthening this research and understanding the need for better research to help today's virtual organizations. Topic Managing and developing leadership, trust, and accountability in culturally diverse virtual team members is an important business topic in today's global economy.Problem StatementToday's organizations operate in a global and challenging environment, which has forced to become leaner, reduce production cycles and improve production and communications technology where essential employees and content expertise have been consolidated. Organizational leaders currently have no definitive evidence of the management styles they should seek to ensure that members of a culturally diverse virtual team develop leadership, trust, and accountability. The effectiveness of virtual team management will be evaluated based on the five main types of management styles (Robert Tannenbaum and Warren H. Schmidt, 1958 and 1973) and other modern styles. These management styles or theories are autocratic, democratic, bureaucratic, paternalistic and laissez-faire. However, there are other more “modern” management styles or leaders… middle of paper… can be trusted with a predominant view of how knowledge is constructed that would fit the worldview structure. Worldviews will contribute to the design of the research which will most likely be quantitative; however, there is a big chance that it will be mixed. The design of this research will be based on bringing together a worldview or hypothesis about the research, specific strategies of inquiry, and research methods. This research will test a theory by specifying restrictive hypotheses and collecting data to support or refute the hypotheses. Works Cited Creswell, J. W. (2009).
