Having a good quality education in America seems to be the closest thing to a ticket to class mobility. The book was very interesting in explaining what social class really is in America and how it affects people's lives in how they live day to day. Different types of social classes are what shape our society. But I think this book is more for those people who are not so aware of social class, or for those who feel that we live in a classless society, rather than for people who have realized the consequences that class actually has on social life . someone's life. Many people can relate to the stories told in the book, if not, they know a person who can relate to these stories. As someone who grew up lower class, I can definitely relate to most of the stories told in this book. In my experience, there is a big difference in this country between the rich, the middle class and the very poor that we see on a daily basis. Even those who belong to the so-called working class have to make constant sacrifices and live very differently from those who are firmly placed in the middle class. Some people may have decent jobs, but bills and other expenses might make things more difficult for people than those who are in the same class but don't necessarily face the same things as others. The chapters I read in this book expand on what I said for a better and clearer understanding.
