Introduction Before starting our career, especially in the hospitality industry, we need to know skills, competencies and even weaknesses. This individual assessment essay, the one provided by the Business Industry Training Team, can be used as a tool to know individual reflection on our capabilities, weaknesses that need to be developed or even goals in the form of a pre-development plan that will be useful during the our internship and future career. This assessment will explain my goals, strengths and areas of development, skills and actions I need to take. Framework Career Goal Diana S. Hunt said, “Goals are dreams with deadlines.” Dreaming about your future and then trying to achieve it within a limited time, we call this a goal. As a child I dreamed of having a luxurious and renowned hotel like the one I saw in the films of the time. Then I decided to study more about the hospitality industry and here I am. In 4 years I will graduate from this hospitality school and have 2 years experience in hospitality industry and in 5 years I will work in a hotel in Indonesia, my hometown, or abroad (European country or USA). I want to work in a 3 or 4 star hotel as a F&B Manager because I want to learn more about this department as my first job and earn some money, and if my parents allow me, I want to learn more about cooking. I'm also interested in cooking. If I could continue to learn cooking after I graduate from culinary school, I would like to gain experience in the culinary department as well.
