Topic > Plan to reunite foster child with...

Christina and her family want to successfully reunite despite past abuse. The abuse was brought to the attention of Child Welfare by a teacher who noticed bruises on Christina. The fact that Christina was reluctant to talk about the bruises made the situation even more suspicious and therefore led to reporting the situation to Child Welfare. At this point, both the parents and Christina have said they want their family to eventually reunite. This is the overall objective that will be used as a starting point by the agency. The purpose of this discussion is to develop a goal plan for Christina and her family that emphasizes family reunification. There are four main points this plan must address: goals, family strengths, target goal dates, and interventions that will be used. To address these points the discussion will be divided into 4 sections and each of the points will be addressed in a separate section. Goal and Objectives Client: Christina and her family Goal A: Christina and her family will be reunified as evidenced by: Goal 1: Christina and her family will attend all counseling sessions. Objective 2: Christina's safety will be maintained; no evidence of abuse. Goal B: Christina will be more socially interactive: Goal 1: Christina will participate in all designated group counseling sessions. Goal 2: Christina will attend the selected camp at least twice a week. Objective 3: Christina will interact with at least one person during each session. Strengths of Christina and her family One of Christina and her family's greatest strengths are the other family members who care and are involved. This is evident from the fact that Christina was in place… in the center of the paper… the aim is to get Christina to interact with others using topics that interest her. Counseling would also serve a similar purpose. The main idea is to get Christina to have more confidence in her communication and interactions with others.
