Generally, for any level of government, a private agency, or even within a group, gaining support starts with interest, need, demand, and potential success. Legislative changes will go nowhere without one or more of these concepts. Nor should… what's the point? The president's legislative success depends largely on legislative support. Legislation is generally successful when a large majority of those who will be affected will benefit from the legislation. The new health care reform, for example, is a good idea generally supported by Congress and the Senate, but is slow to gain popular acceptance due to its many flaws (Sollenburger). A president's legislative success is based on his interest and ambition. Demonstrating your interest and determination to bring only great success to the county certainly positively affects the opinion of Congress and shows that you are capable of handling important issues and successfully overcoming important issues and events. Advocating for what people believe comes naturally to many, but there are a number of good reasons to promote CTB Legislative Advocacy in particular. Legislative advocacy is the act of working with individual legislators and legislative bodies to gain support for your initiative or cause. This is important in the president's concern to show interest because if he has a plan he must be able to carry it out. Simple political, intellectual, or moral support could potentially be the support of legislators, such as members of Congress or state legislators, or it could even be the support of other rather powerful people who do not directly make the laws, but can be heard by those who do so. ago (CTB Legislative Advocacy). Legislative advocacy is… middle of the paper… easier for those you are trying to convince but also for those who work with you to get the job done. If your message isn't specific or actionable, these busy legislators and legislators won't pay much attention and essentially won't be involved to help achieve the goal. A president achieves legislative success by getting close to legislators and other politicians. Maintaining regular, grassroots contact with politicians is important to address growing issues. This will prevent a major problem from exploding and having little time available because it was not planned beforehand. Three basic rules for this contact with legislators and politicians are to first approach them personally, then have a clear goal in mind to talk to them about, and finally make sure they understand the benefits of supporting you and the results of not doing so (CTB Legislative Defense).
