Topic > The abortion debate - 2006

The simple definition of termination of pregnancy causes a stir and gives voice to opinions in society. When many hear the word abortion, they think of a woman who gets rid of her baby because she doesn't feel safe with her partner and is making a selfish decision. An abortion can also occur spontaneously and is therefore called a miscarriage. It is important to understand the reasoning behind why each abortion was chosen before judging the child's parents or the doctor involved. Many say that abortions are unethical because they speak in the voice of the child, but some voices find the side where there are circumstances that make an abortion ethical and necessary that define it as pro-choice and pro-life. Abortion is one of the safest medical procedures to perform. Unfortunately, numerous people resort to unsafe abortions. Every year there are approximately 42 million abortions performed worldwide. Of the 42 million performed, 20 million are unsafe. 70,000 maternal deaths result from these unsafe abortions. With such a large number of deaths, you would think that people would simply let their children live rather than end their child's life along with their own. Induced abortions can include herbs, sharp instruments, traditional methods, and even physical trauma. If people have to go through pain and high expense to undo their mistake, they should just stay safe with their partner and save themselves the trouble. Abortion laws and discussions have been ongoing since the 1820s, when abortion was prohibited after the fourth month of life. pregnancy. Early feminists like Susan B. Anthony promoted prevention. They believed that men pressured women to abort the baby. Later down the road, the women... in the center of the paper... the chosen group are happy because their opinions are upvoted. Until the time comes, if it ever comes, when abortion becomes illegal, pro-life people will have to hope that couples make the right decision. There are so many families who need a child to adopt and no one should take the ability to have children for granted. Works Cited “Especially for Men.” Men and abortion. Np, 2006. Web.
