Students deserve the chance to use art as a tool, to develop important 21st century skills, to find themselves, to realize the power of collaboration, and to become I realize that many times there is more than one right answer. I believe that educators need to put themselves in their students' shoes to try to understand what is relevant to them. I believe we should surround our projects by understanding the answers to the following questions. What challenges do my students face? What do they need to know to be successful? What skills will they use beyond school? What impact will this curriculum/lesson have on the student's life? These may seem like outlandish questions, but I believe they bring educators to the reality of what is truly important to students
