Leaders have been needed since ancient times. First, their job was to protect their tribe, make sure his tribe always had food. Subsequently, effective leadership helps to defend one's country and at the same time extend national borders. Nowadays, leadership makes a company successful and enables a non-profit organization to achieve its mission. Therefore, every company, organization and of course every country has a leader, who decides what is best for his company, his employees, etc. Furthermore, “The absence of leadership has equally dramatic effects.” (D. Quinn Mills, 2005) Due to the lack of leading companies, organizations probably move too slowly with innovations, development and may eventually lose their way. Also, there are many books about organizations where decision making is emphasized, which means that if your decision making is timely, thorough, correct, then things will go well. But the decision in itself will not change anything. When a decision is made, an organization or company is faced with the problem of how to get things done in a timely and effective manner. “Implementation issues are really about how leaders influence behavior, change the course of events, and overcome resistance. “ (D. Quinn Mills, 2005) In other words, leadership is very important when you want to implement a decision successfully. Being a leader is difficult, because you need to know almost everything you can lead, for other people to listen to you and feel respect for the leader.
