I honestly believe that's what we need to do! Help students understand why going to school is important! Make it fun, interesting and about them! That said, the speaker spoke of students around the world looking for their classroom experience to be more meaningful and connect to the world we live in. Unfortunately, this is true. Students want to receive more than just information. High-achieving students and reluctant students are hungry for educational purposes and how they relate to their real-world experiences. This is an area that needs to be developed more within school systems and not so much put aside or in the background. It is necessary to address it promptly and bring it to the forefront. Students want to know how school relates to the world outside the classroom and what they need to learn and apply in their lives, so they can use the information they learn at school in the real world. Unfortunately, teachers also want more academic and real-world connection because they know it's worth it
