Some they choose to find a rare and expensive bullet, while others look for the cheapest and most common caliber on the market. Although there are many sizes of bullets, there are two calibers that happen to be the most common but at the same time very different. These two, the .44 magnum and the .45 Colt both serve well enough as hunting and sporting bullets, but they have characteristics that lead buyers to prefer one over the other. Through their history, costs and uses, it has been proven that the . 44 magnum and the .45 Colt differ greatly but also share some important similarities. Starting in 1872, the .45 Colt came onto the market. A joint development between Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing company and the Union Metallic Cartridge Company created a revolver. black powder that caught the attention of many. This round was soon introduced into the army. Progressing steadily, it soon became a complete projectile rather than a black powder projectile. Unfortunately, the wars the Army was facing became more grueling and advanced, which is why the .45 Colt was replaced by a more powerful round to meet the Army's needs.
