To increase the channel's rating, the producer included some violent and PG 13 scenes in his TV show. An average American citizen “spent 4 hours and 51 minutes a day in front of the television screen” (The Average American). So there is no doubt that we may come across some violent scenes on television. Television has so much influence on us that there are children from a young age up to adolescence who “begin to accept violence as a way to solve problems” (TV Violence and Children). There is no telling when the violent personality emerges. According to research "The impact of television violence can manifest itself immediately in the child's behavior or can emerge years later" (TV Violence and Children). Not everything on television is violent. Some positive things are coming from the media. They inform us with the latest news and provide us with sources of entertainment. The media is a powerful tool that “some politicians, who use the media for re-election and to gain support for their political goals” (Prese 4). The media is a great way to spread information. Violence on television is too popular and too profitable to eliminate. There is no doubt that the teenager loves violent scenes on television.
