Hundreds of thousands of people own a car, or some type of motor vehicle, around the world. Whether it is a car, a truck or even a motorcycle, each of them is equipped with a suspension system, but the type of suspension system depends on the type of vehicle. Besides normal everyday cars, there are many other types of vehicles that people like to buy to play with, such as dirt bikes and go karts. To get the best ride, an independent suspension system is the best choice. There are many different types of independent suspension systems, but the double wishbone, or A-arm system, and the Macpherson strut are the two most popular. Using a double wishbone suspension system is a better choice than using the MacPherson strut suspension system. There are many different types of suspension systems used in today's cars, and some have been discontinued due to their uselessness. An example of an older suspension system is called swing axle suspension. This is a very old model, used in many sports cars in the 1950s, but disappeared for about 2 decades. This was due to the weakness of the system. Handling was terrible, as the camber angle can be significantly changed with a simple bounce motion and change in static weight and body roll when the car takes a corner. The only advantage of this type of system was that it could provide independent shock absorption. (Wan) Another example of suspension system is called double wishbone suspension or A-arm system. This system is said to be the most ideal suspension for many suspension designers. It can be used in both the front and rear of the car, it is an independent suspension and is particularly desirable for its n...... half of paper...... spring, you are causing a long rotational movement the whole reel. (Longhurst) Shock absorbers, otherwise known as dampers, reduce the vertical movement of the car as it travels over a rough surface. Without this piece of the suspension system, your car would rock and sway back and forth brutally. “It would be a traveling death trap. Or at least it would be a traveling death trap until the incessant vibration caused it to collapse,” says Longhurst. Shock absorbers have two main functions. Both absorb any above-average road irregularities, as I mentioned above, and secondly keep the wheels on the ground while driving.
