American pop icons like Miley Cyrus have regenerated their entire image as an innocent Disney club kid into an opinionated, take-charge woman who seems to rebel against her childish personality. According to Lauren Franklin in her article "What Miley Means to Millennials", her performances symbolize nudity, hypersexualization and she allows herself to be prostituted by her industry, because sex sells. Franklin sarcastically states that Millennials and Miley are very similar, because they continually transform their identity across the landscape of their educational and social environment. Miley's ideology offers some trends that Millennials and people of all generations need to be aware of. Individuals like Miley do what they do, in the name of capitalism and have achieved their bourgeois status with all its perks and prestige. Being bourgeois is in fact vanity
