In 1932; Aldous Huxley published the classic novel Brave New World. The novel is about a controlled and futuristic utopian/dystopian society, which seems stable and successful, but at the same time evil and lacking in compassion. The Brave New World regime forcefully enforces indulgence in drugs and casual sex, caste systems, along with other various issues that would be considered unethical in our current Western society. Although Brave New World has many literary values; The most obvious literary value of the novel lies in the concept of establishing a false morality. This false morality and its superficial values; dominate an authoritarian regime; where real life choices and experiences are denied to people. This situation creates a false perspective, frustration, and a highly manipulative existence. All this causes destruction and confusion in the lives of people with individuality. In Brave New World the process of populating the earth occurs through fertilization, decanting and conditioning. Fertilization occurs when the embryos are bottled and fertilized. Decanting is the process that takes the place of live birth. So conditioning is the process of literally brainwashing children with the “morality”, culture and philosophy of Brave New World. Through conditioning they are taught to be deprived of literature and deities, of the common sense of “what is right and what is wrong”. Through conditioning they are also taught to despise those who do not conform to established standards of behavior.
