Much Ado About Nothing presents a picturesque love story between two characters who meet us as hateful individuals and leave us as an inseparable couple. These two characters are Benedick and Beatrice and they act for us like lovers who have fallen deeply and passionately in love in a way that we would all fantasize about too, slowly, and then all at once. Their relationship in Shakespeare's work was presented through their corresponding characteristics, the way they speak and the way the language was written to show their affection, the events that happen to bring them together, other people that influence a bond, the connections between the way Shakespeare presented love in his other plays and finally the different versions of this representation through films and theater productions. Much Ado About Nothing shows us the difference between perfect love and perfect love and also describes the social hierarchy of the play's period through characters who do things for honor and reputation, and not because it is the right thing to do. The title of the play plays a huge role in describing Shakespeare's ideas, as nothing is similar to the word 'notice' - slang for gossip and therefore is ideal as the play is entirely "A Lot of Stories About Gossip". This is because the characters have false knowledge and create irritation due to made-up rumors. We can tell from the beginning of the play that Beatrice and Benedick are perfect for each other, simply by their matching characteristics and similar level of intellect, which is a perfect basis for marriage. They are both cunning, evident through their ability to twist the words of others, loyal shown through Benedick not killing Claudio and Beatrice never doubting Hero,...... middle of paper......g each time Don John entered creating a powerful and dramatic atmosphere. On the contrary, I prefer to read the play since Shakespeare wrote a play known for its language and it is preferable to read and understand the language in a way where you can perform it yourself rather than watching a non-original version. Therefore, the different methods of staging the play are all vital to the portrayal of love as they create a different environment and seeing the characters live and their interaction, reading the lines and using our imagination, undertaking a completely new experience of feeling love. In conclusion, character traits, language, events, Claudius and Hero, comparisons to other Shakespearean works, and unique variations in performance are all vital aspects to the portrayal of Beatrice and Benedick's love in Much Ado About Nothing..
