Get an original essayMr. Riccardo Luigi Riccardo, an Italian businessman and Bishop Locati Luigi, have dedicated their lives to helping children. Mr Riccardo died in 2014 while undergoing treatment in Italy. The house received the support of the founders and for this reason it was really useful. The house also serves as a rescue for displaced children. The house was originally Mr. Riccardo's residence with a warehouse until it was chosen as the site of the children's home. The home includes 115 children. These children attend various institutions which include: Roysambu Primary School, Kiereni Secondary School, Giovanni-e-Sylvia School for the Deaf, Mugona Girls Secondary School. The home is registered as a community organization in Nairobi. The directors of the Bishop Opera Luigi Locati children's home include: Mr. Riccardo, Mr. Thomas M. Otiato, Dr. Leonard PC Amalia and Mr. Peter Mangula. The target groups of the house are: Street families Vulnerable children Children who have been saved Children from poor fundOrphans. The house mainly receives short-term support from corporate institutions, churches and individual contributions for sustainability. The house also receives things such as furniture, clothes, buckets, mattresses, brooms, etc. from individual contributions. SWOT Analysis Strength The environment of the house is conducive to children's growth because the house is always clean and has a large open space that allows children to play around and interact with each other. The house is located close to town and right on the main road, making it easily accessible to visitors and potential donors. It is located next to a primary school, which makes it easy for children to go to school because it is close. A church is also located next to the house, which makes it easy for children to go to church when it is nearby. The house has a stable source of income from rented apartments and other potential institutions, which helps them in financial stability. They continue to receive donations from one of the co-founders of the house in Italy. The house consists of three women who help take care of the children and carry out household tasks such as washing clothes, watering plants, cooking, washing utensils, cooking, sweeping, cleaning, etc. The home grows crops that reduce expenses for purchasing food. Weak points The house does not have sufficient sports equipment, which limits the children's sporting part. They could purchase other sports equipment for the children such as balls, swings for young children. The garden of the house needs work because the grass is dry and this is not conducive to children playing in the lawn. The house is located near the main road which has a bumpy side because children could have accidents due to traffic on the main road. iv) The house does not have enough employees who could occasionally work in the house to maintain the complex. Opportunity The house could grow more crops such as vegetables on their large plot of land to increase food supplies and save more money. Another opportunity that I have already seen starting in the house is to start raising chickens, which will also increase their food supplies. Children will also gain knowledge about agriculturegrowing crops and raising chickens. The school has efficient resources, such as a well located next to the boys' dormitory. This well becomes efficient in the sense that it provides water for washing clothes, washing utensils, sweeping, cleaning, watering plants, etc. The house also has a classroom where children can revise and study English. Threats The house is not well protected, meaning anyone can enter at any time and it could be dangerous for the children. The house does not have a hired security guard who can protect the house. The location of the house near the urban area could also be dangerous due to several bad peer groups found in the urban area who could easily influence the children towards bad habits like smoking, drinking alcohol, taking drugs, etc. My first impression from Bishop Opera Casa dei bambini Luigi LocatiMy first impression of the house was positive. I entered the main gate and immediately saw the sign at the entrance to the house and that's when I knew I had arrived home. It was a large complex and at first I couldn't find the office. The tall trees surrounding the house created a good atmosphere in the house. As I approached the office I found the principle of the house interacting with another student and he immediately welcomed me and offered me a chair. He took me around the house, and in the back yard the place was clean and a lady called Selinah was washing clothes. I could already see that this house is organized and does things in line. I walked around and approached the children's dormitories. The children had already gone to school but had left their beds made up and the bathrooms cleaned. I recognized that the girls' dorm had more beds and noticed that there are more girls than boys staying there. Next to the boys' dormitory there was a well that contained water that the house uses for various purposes. As I walked behind the office I saw some crops being grown and these were vegetables that I could already see reducing expenses. In front of the back of the office, there was a small classroom where some children were studying English early that morning. In front is where clothes were hung out to dry. On the left there was an empty room and then I asked the principal what that room was for and he told me that the poultry farm which is already underway will be built there. Outside the room there was some furniture that they were arranging including benches and cots for the children. From there I began my community service. Then they gave me two buckets and a little boy called Moses took me to the well to get water, I thought it would be easy but it was quite difficult because I had to dip the canister in the water and lift the canister up which was heavy. I filled two buckets and started watering the crops. After I finished watering the plants, I was told to sweep the boys' dormitory. I refilled the two buckets from the well and cleaned the boys' dormitory, which was a bit difficult because the ground in the dormitory was old and in some parts there was no concrete, but I improvised and cleaned the place .ChallengesThe house presents a challenge of huge mosquitoes that could make children sick, as behind the dormitories there is a bush that invites mosquitoes. The house has another problem of too much dust as the grass has dried up and disappeared which invites dust. The other challenge is that the buildings are old like the boys' dormitory which needs new concrete on the ground because the original ground is old. Things to keep in mind: This is just an example.
