Hypothesis: I think people who are criticized will work harder to prove that they can do it and that they are not useless. And people who are praised won't change because they think they're already doing great, and they won't try to be better because they're afraid of failing. Experiment: In my experiment I had 60 children between the ages of 10 and 12. I divided them into 3 groups, 2 of which were experimental and 1 controlled group. I tried to find people who had low self-esteem and high self-esteem and divide them evenly between the groups to see what would happen. These are some of the test questions: What is 5x6? Then the Teacher gave a test to the children, when they finished someone corrected them. After taking the test, the teacher judged the children that I told her to take, she also told them that they would take a similar test in a week. The next time they took the test you could see that the people who had been criticized scored higher than before. And the people who were praised didn't try as hard because they were afraid of failing. I did the experiment twice and got almost the same results. Conclusion After doing my research I saw that most of the people who were praised didn't put in that much effort and even though it was the same test with the same information they thought they already knew the information even if they had forgotten it . And the people who were criticized worked harder even though they knew they should be spending less time playing games or hanging out with friends. The people criticized were trying to prove that the teachers were wrong and that they could have done better. My hypothesis was correct, that when you are criticized you try to work harder. In this experiment it could have happened that the criticized people gave up and the praised people thought they had to move on. For example, if a criticized person had been friends with a person in the controlled group, he could have told him what had happened and both of them would not have tried and therefore we would not have known what would have happened if we had said almost Nothing.
