The characteristics of medical problems, such as cancer or other illnesses or diseases, are the product of nature or genetics where, in a particular environment, relationships are an example of nursing. I learned a lot by doing this family genogram. Family history isn't something I've ever stopped to think about, so I've gained a bit of information about myself and my family. Say no to plagiarism. My paternal great-grandmother died of a heart attack and my paternal grandmother has diabetes and high cholesterol. These are the only known diseases in my family's genogram, but that doesn't mean I'm not susceptible to other diseases. I should start to be more constantly aware of any changes in my health and make conscientious efforts to stay healthy. The biggest thing I took away from this assignment is that I need to start taking better care of myself. I could stand to lose weight, especially since diabetes runs in both sides of my family. I'm a smoker myself and since both members of my family have had heart complications, I should really consider quitting this habit more seriously. Breast cancer is also something I should be aware of and should self-monitor regularly. However, despite the things I've learned, there are some gaps in information that leave me wondering if there's anything else I should be worried about. I also learned more about my race and ethnicity from this project. I have French Canadian, Mexican, Caucasian, English and African American in my genes, and it's very nice to have such a diverse mix. My religion (Christian) and culture have remained consistent throughout my history. Other basic genetics passed down in my family are brown eyes, dark hair, short, overweight, with some blonde hair, and blue eyes. Everyone on my maternal side had vision problems or wore glasses. Family Relationship Patterns on the Genogram Relationship patterns are consistent from grandmother onward. Relationships have not been consistent with females in the family. My family always says it's because Comeau women are independent and uncontrollable. Growing up, the family that raised me were all women. My great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, aunt and older sister took care of me. Men were never consistently present. The fact that men are not physically part of the family is not a bad thing, but I hope my sister and I can change in the future. Smoking is another habit in my family and my habit is living proof that it has been passed down for generations. Both my great grandparents and my maternal aunt were smokers and there are a few on my paternal side who smoke too. Creativity is something that all members of my maternal family are good at. There are people who play instruments and sing, people who write, people who paint or draw, people who sew and create objects. We all have the gift of creativity. This is not a genetic trait, but a characteristic that we all share. Please note: this is just an example. Get a document now.
