Topic > Dream Beckham Movie Review

The movie Dream Beckham (BILB) was created by Fox Searchlight Pictures in 2002. The movie was directed by Gurinder Chadha. Gurinder didn't direct many major films that people watch today, but one of his most popular films is Bride and Prejudice. Gurinder has Indian heritage which definitely had an impact on the film Bend it Like Beckham. I believe, for example, that the film BILB has many good actors; Parminder Nagra as Jessminda (Jess), the main character who had a passion for football, Keira Knightley as Julliette's best friend Jess and many other interesting actors. The film is designed to be seen by all ages, from young to old, this is a film you can sit down and watch with the family or watch alone. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to watch this incredible film which lasts 112 minutes. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? It is very easy to understand the different themes and plot and it is also very informative and shows how different stereotypes affect different people and their families. There are many different themes in the film. The main plot of the film shows how two very young and courageous women fight to practice the sport they love (football). They too, young women, had many bumps along the way both with their family and with the people they hung out with. Both girls have overcome this big stereotype that football is a male sport. In the film we also saw two very different cultures. Jess is an Indian girl and her parents wanted a more Indian life for her, where she gets married to an Indian man and does all the cooking, cleaning, washing, all jobs that were believed to be "women's work". For Jess, this wasn't the life she wanted. Jess wanted to go out and play the game he loves. Jess's family definitely held her back from what she loved to do because of their Indian culture. Overall I think this movie is very easy to follow in plot and has some great twists and turns and I love how both girls managed to go on to play for a semi-professional soccer team. There are many different twists in the film's plot all of which affect individual characters in different ways. The plot was good and always kept me interested in what would happen next. I interviewed a few people and they agreed that this plot is interesting and also keeps you guessing. The plot is very simple to follow. The main character of the film is Jess (the protagonist), she is mentioned a lot in the film. Along with Joe and Jules, they are the second most viewed characters in the film. Parminder Nagra does a great job playing Jess as he is of Indian descent. All the actors in the film played their roles very well. I think each actor embodied their character and did a great job doing so. The main character Jess did a great job in making me feel like she really wants to play soccer with her parents playing the supporting role stopping her from playing soccer, conflict in a movie is important because it adds value to the movie and makes it much more interesting. Joe Jess' soccer coach plays a believable role that supports Jess in her efforts to become a skilled soccer player, often challenging her parents as to why she must lead an Indian life. Joe became a sympathetic role over the course of the film. My personal view of BILB is positive as it has a good plot and uses supporting roles to make the film more interesting, challenging the idea that 7/10.
