Imagine exploring your recently purchased cabin, tucked next to a sparkling blue lake among the pine mountains. In the attic you come across an old wooden chest of drawers with six drawers. He seems to be hiding something. Slowly push the heavy chest of drawers aside to see what's hidden behind it; look, it's a window. A “secret window”. This thrilling and suspenseful film keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? Johnny Depp once again outdid himself with another outstanding performance as his character Morton Rainey, the famous mystery author. I like movies with twists and this movie has a great twist. You'll start to feel sorry for Mort because of the devastating reason for his divorce from Amy, who was cheating on him. I thought he was just like any other author who sometimes has writer's block and talks to himself out loud. He had every right to prove to John Shooter that he hadn't plagiarized his story. Nobody wants to be accused of this. I kept feeling sorry for Mort because every time he had the chance to try it, something bad would go wrong. The killer burns down his house and tears up the pages of the magazine. I kept wondering: What else could go wrong? Then his innocent dog and two people are murdered. Morton has to clean it up because Shooter made it look like he did it. He goes to the police and hires a private investigator, but nothing is done and Mort becomes even more paranoid. John Shooter tells Mort that he's not going anywhere until "the law is made right." Makes me think was he talking about plagiarizing his story or was he talking about something else? As the more obvious clues of Shooter's cigarettes and black velvet cowboy hat appeared throughout the cabin, my perception of him began to change. My feelings towards this lonely character changed the moment Johnny Depp put on that black velvet cowboy hat. Mort says to himself, "you know what you have to do, fix the story, the ending." Secret Window was a great title for this film because Morton Rainey had a secret window that opened onto his alter ego John Shooter. “The only thing that matters is the ending.” -Johnny Depp
