Mrs. Doubtfire is an American comedy film starring Robin Williams and Sally Field. It was among the 100 funniest films of the 20th century and was ranked number 40. There is no specific setting in the film. The two main characters moved from one place to another at different times, yet we can consider their home as a key setting where the most important change and the essence of the story occurred. The film is mainly about a man and a woman who had 3 children. They were somehow different from each other. One day the father decided to organize a birthday party for his daughter despite her bad grades on her report card. The mother was unable to handle such a chaotic life and filed for divorce, where the judge accepted her reasons and granted her custody of the children. The father wanted to spend as much time as possible with his children and was ready to do anything. She then decided to be the nanny named Mrs. Doubtfire that her mother was looking for. He got dressed and wore the right makeup to match the nanny's features. When he was hired he was happy to spend time next to his family even though no one recognized him. He started saving the money he earned to buy a house and have some fixed assets that would help him get the kids back next time in court. Over time he realized that his mother was seeing someone else and began to get jealous. One day the children caught the nanny and could find out that he was their father, so he was forced to explain everything to them. However, when the mother learned the truth, she became very angry at her ex-husband because he had been lying all this time. During the subsequent court hearing the judge became angry at the father's actions as unorthodox behavior granting the mother full custody of...... middle of paper ...... personal needs represented through the id. Over time, the father was captured by his children and later by his wife. So the id in this sense dominated everything because if it hadn't been that way it wouldn't have been caught lying. In short, deception will not take us to a better place since by lying the only thing that would prevail is the id which will not help us achieve the intended goal we are looking for. In short, the movie was interesting and entertaining. The writer, as well as the director, managed to portray the concept of deception along with many other themes in a comedic manner. They were able to portray the importance of both parents' existence in their children's lives. They also shed light on the importance of forgiveness where the mother ultimately forgave the father for the sake of the children. All in all the film was quite charming and entertaining.
