Every year I add something different to my writing process that makes it better than the previous year. My writing process has developed at the hands of every English teacher I've had. Every teacher teaches differently, yet in my head they all intertwine perfectly. Going back to my example of the two different students, I said I was a little of both. You may have wondered how and this is my explanation. A teacher taught me that putting my ideas on paper first will help me with the organization of my paper. He said that even if my ideas don't make any sense I should write them down because you never know what you need in an essay. Terry Pratchett often quoted “the first draft is simply telling you the story.” I firmly believe that she is the reason I feel comfortable sharing my ideas. At the opposite end of the scale, I have another teacher who taught me the fundamentals of an essay. She was much more critical than the previous teacher, yet she had the same impact on my writing process. It is because of her that I spend time looking at my sentences and the structure of my essay. All of the teachers between the two I mentioned played a role in building my process. From the focus on diction to the use of the comma, they have influenced the way I write
