Topic > The importance of technology on healthcare information…

Introduction In this article, I will discuss the growth of technology in today's healthcare system. In healthcare, technology increasingly plays an important role in almost all processes, from patient registration to data monitoring, from laboratory tests to self-care tools. (Jayanth, 2014) Technology has changed healthcare for the better; gave stressed and under-pressure employees more opportunities to make their jobs easier. Having intelligent and transparent information systems in the healthcare system will benefit the organization and employees of the healthcare organization. Identify and analyze what you believe are the most significant new technology requirements for healthcare. Indicate how suppliers should approach implementationArgue that the need for innovation and/or technological change is the most urgent. Support your thesis with examples. Health information systems are an important tool to help improve patient safety, healthcare quality, efficiency and data collection, and can help contain rising costs in the healthcare sector. (Takvorian, n.d.) These two basic technologies underlie healthcare information systems:• Electronic health record: Stored patient medical history, such as medical history, medications, allergies, lab results, vaccinations, and billing information. • Practice management software: Allows organization of patient appointments, lab results, and referrals, but does not organize with specific information about each patient. Both healthcare information systems are software used in medical practices to have a simpler and more well-organized workflow. Health IT represents an important innovation in the healthcare sector. According to Gupta (2008), while hospitals and other healthcare providers have long been quick to adopt innovative technologies in medical devices, procedures, and treatments, much less attention has been focused on innovations in networking and communications. There is less focus on innovation in networking and communications because medical practices have IT employees, which helps improve network security to prevent breaches from entering security systems and helps pass patient information forward and back without hackers taking them or looking at them patiently
