Topic > Addressing systemic problems in Wandsworth Prison

Since Stephen has been in Wandsworth Prison, my family and I have experienced excessive and unwarranted hardship. I note that in recent months the prison has experienced hostage situations, suicides, murders, a fire started by an inmate, overcrowding and budget cuts. Something as simple as a DVD player or books (if in line with prison rules) as a form of mental stimulation; could go a long way in reducing further cases and maintaining a state of calm among prisoners. I am not trying to undermine the prison system in any way; I'm simply trying to see that he is treated fairly. Could you please advise me how; We can initiate a compensation claim for the prison DVD player or arrange for it to be replaced immediately. Alternatively we can replace this element while the matter is investigated further. Ultimately, I do not wish to cause any problems for Stephen nor do I want this to take up unnecessary prison staff time that could be better used elsewhere. I looked at the NOMS legislation but couldn't find guidelines for such a case; Maybe I'm looking in the wrong section. I come to NOMS with what I believe is a reasonable request, your service has already aided me in my endeavors. Both my family and I would be sincerely grateful if you could advise me on how to resolve this problem and the steps we should take
