o ​​​​7) Ecclesiastes 1:2-18, 2:1-24, 3, 9:2-12, 12:1-9 Summary: Throughout Ecclesiastes, a "Master" is introduced. The Master insists that everything is “meaningless.” The Master goes into detail using almost analogies to say that everything makes no sense. The Master also says that wisdom, pleasures, wisdom, madness and toil are meaningless. Master also says that we should live as long as we can under God and says that we live a life similar to that of animals in that we live and die and how we choose to live our life is one thing, while what happens next is meaningless .  Comment: Personally, I agree and disagree with the statements made in this section. I don't think all these things are meaningless. I believe that everything happens for a reason and these reasons accumulate and make us the amazing people we are. I don't think wisdom, pleasure, madness, and toil are meaningless. Even though we don't always understand certain situations when they happen and we don't understand why they happen to us, I think they all have a purpose in life (this is almost identical to the scenario that happened with Job). Overall, I believe this section of the reading taught me that everything in life has a purpose, despite what the reading says. We are who we are because of the difficult tasks God presents to us, and I think that's beautiful. o 8)Jonah tells his shipmates to throw him overboard, causing the strong tides to stop.
