IntroductionMartin Luther King saw how poorly blacks were treated and became involved in the civil rights movement during the 1950s. He was also the chairman of the boycott in (Rosmanitz, ND) 1955. In (Rosmanitz, ND) 1963 Martin Luther King brought together hundreds of thousands of Americans, black and white, staged a protest march for equal rights in Washington D.C. The Lincoln Memorial is where Martin Luther King also gave his “I have a dream” speech. He is best known for his role in civil rights law using nonviolence in civil rights law based on his Christian beliefs. Martin Luther King's Involvement in the Civil Rights Movement The campaign began on April 3 with lunch counter sit-ins. On April 6, protesters marched in front of City Hall and forty-two people were arrested. Demonstrations took place every subsequent day. As prisons filled with peaceful blacks, King argued with white businessmen whose stores were losing business due to the protests.
