Topic > Reflective Teacher Reflection - 1210

Made me reflect on how valuable it is to fail with all aspects of social media. Now I believe that to be an effective teacher you want to know what the Internet has to offer. By becoming knowledgeable about topics like social media, you allow yourself to develop relationships with your students by understanding their social media outlet. A teacher wants to know what's out there on the Internet to bring back into the classroom and incorporate into student learning. I will keep up to date with the latest resources by staying connected to groups and other social media sites introducing these new tools for teachers. I'll also take it for a spin to see what I can find on my own and see if I can use the program with my students. If it is found effective, I will share it with other teachers online and at work. I believe that if more teachers were interested in becoming tech savvy, they would find that their jobs could be much easier and that their students would likely get more out of learning. Teenagers have respect for an adult if they know what they like and how to use it. My kids always tell me I think I'm young because I know too much about social media, but then they always come to me to figure things out, so who's the smartest?
