Topic > My Origins - 1310

It all began about thirty years ago, when a young woman went to the doctor with her first-born son Peter. Her husband had died in the war almost two years earlier. The little girl was seriously ill, so she decided to go to the hospital. When she got there, none of the specialists were able to help her. Until a doctor named Mr. Jonathas saw her. He generously took care of the little girl and offered her a big discount. He returned home happy. The next morning he returned to the doctor. As a sign of thanks she gave him a beautiful basket full of fruit. This marked the beginning of a romantic story from which I was conceived. I will not forget my culture, history and roots of my ancestors. Which brings me to this question: How can I show respect for my heritage? How would I describe them? There is certainly a lot to say, the following paragraph will answer all these questions. I was born in Miami, but raised in Haiti. My parents firmly believed that it was easier to raise children outside the United States of America. So at the age of one I was taken to Hispaniola. At three years old I attended a private all-girls Catholic school. For six years the main focus was learning five languages: French, English, Spanish, Creole and Latin. I also had the opportunity to discover the history of other countries, their capital, their religion and more. I actually had the chance to go to different countries every year, throughout the summer. I gain knowledge of how to give back to my community by organizing movie days, student carnivals and sports competitions. I learned a lot and at the same time I enjoyed these experiences. My country taught me to be humble and to make a difference every day, in the way I speak, in the way I write, in my values; I will always be grateful and look up to my precursors on this topic. Most of us will be dropped off at school by our parents, two days before term. Once there you will be given some specific tasks for the semester. We had to tidy up our room and our clothes every day. As for the food, we usually have waitresses to serve us and we always take care of the rest.
