Dissuasion against the public use of tobacco products through the use of injunctions is unlikely to convince people to quit smoking (Hudson 27). Tobacco users are aware of the possible health risks they are employing against themselves while at the same time providing their governments with much-needed tax revenue. Finally, banning smoking in public places will force smokers to use these products at home in close proximity to their families and children. Since residences are private property, there is no action that can be taken to effectively penalize smoking.
