“Where the hell am I?” I thought as I tried to jump out of the hospital bed. My feet hit the floor and I heard numerous footsteps running towards the door of my hospital room. I took a deep breath as three doctors entered. One asked "Yasmin, how are you feeling?" The other asked "Are you okay?" The third asked "How many fingers am I holding up?" I took a deep breath before answering these questions. strange doctors. “I feel fine” I replied to the first doctor “Yes, I'm fine, at least I think I am” was the reply to the second “You're not even lifting a finger” I replied to the third doctor. All the doctors exhaled with obvious relief. “Does anyone want to tell me why I'm in a hospital bed?” I asked with a hint of annoyance in my voice. All the doctors looked at each other and finally one of the doctors came forward and asked, "Do you remember anything?" I silently studied the man. He was bald, short and wearing a doctor's robe that was obviously too large for him. “No, I… wait, where is my mother??” I looked around as if she had magically appeared around the room. "WHERE IS SHE?" I shouted. The doctors looked at each other and nodded. Suddenly I felt a sharp pang and everything slowly turned black. "Stop the car please!!!!!" Mom yelled at the taxi driver, “There's no one who has time for that!” he shouted at her immediately. "Mom, what's happening?" I asked confused. “Watch out for that…!” he shouted to no one in particular. "MOM!!!!!" I screamed. Then, I felt like the sun was coming towards me. So much light… I woke up and saw the doctors standing over me. “Are they all dead?” I asked him, not wanting to know the answer. “We couldn't find the driver but yes, your mother is no longer with us,” he replied calmly. “So what will happen... middle of paper... ...and now. "Who are you, show yourself?" I commanded weakly. Slowly I saw a shape come into view. It was my mom. "So you're not dead!" I exclaimed happily "I'm actually dead but there's nothing that can change" she informed me sadly "there's a way we can still be together..." "What do you mean mom?" I asked "the only way we could be together is if I died..."? He had this look in his eyes. Just by looking at them I knew what he expected me to do. “You want me to die like you,” I said in a monotone. “It's the only way, darling,” he said softly, “I understand.” I replied “I know what I have to do” and slowly walked down the stairs. I reached the end of the corridor. Without a final glance back, I ran. Through the door. In the street and in the cold, dark night. I won't live forever, but my job is to live my life to the fullest. Without the help of parents, of course.
