Langdon, although a master of all signs and symbols throughout the history of the United States and all its conspiracies, does not believe the focus of the book, The Lost Symbol of the Freemasons. It is said that this supposed symbol if one can find and understand it will actually give the person unlimited power by unlocking the Ancient Mysteries that Freemasons have safeguarded for centuries. Being a man of culture, Langdon didn't really believe in the existence of such a powerful symbol. Throughout the novel he states and reaffirms that he does not exist and is simply an invention of the mythical tradition surrounding the Freemasons. “Peter turned around. «Robert, can't you see? The Ancient Mysteries and the Bible are one and the same'” (Brown 616). This revelation completely turns Langdon's world upside down. He's completely skeptical until he looks into the eyes of his best friend, Peter Solomon. This shows that some of the ideas we have about things may be completely wrong. The Bible in fact shows the way to become omnipotent, but only through use and faith in God. With this latest news, Robert can finally put an end to this conflict
