The focus of this principle is that results should produce more happiness than unhappiness (wood). Even motives and intentions are worthless when considering the outcome. I believe this principle is totally wrong. Making good moral choices does not guarantee happiness. Furthermore, the consequences can be totally unpredictable. While happiness is a characteristic to aspire to, it can be a terrible justification for a moral decision. At what cost should we aspire to happiness without considering action? Both the action and the consequences should be considered in ethical terms
