Throughout the show, Blanche attempts to persuade people that she is a pure and elegant woman; however, this is only a facade. Behind her illusions of social snobbery and sexual propriety, Blanche is an insecure individual. He has many problems, from drinking to sex addiction. All these flaws only multiply throughout the story and in the end she is left alone. From early adulthood, Blanche has never had a perfect life. Blanche fell in love with what she thought was a wonderful man. He got married and later the marriage fell apart due to a tragic event. One day, when she entered her room, she surprisingly found her husband in bed with an older man. She had accumulated so much love for this young man, but now she was disgusted. She expresses how disgusted and disappointed she is in him. Following this event, Blanche heard a gunshot. Because of all the agony and embarrassment of her husband, he took his own life. Blanche can't get over it; he blames himself for his untimely death. This first tragic event influenced the rest of Blanche's life. We know that Blanche has problems when she quotes: "I want to be close to you, I have to be with someone, I can't be alone! Because as you may have noticed, I'm not very well." Shortly after the first accident, more problems arose for Blanche. Blanche had to deal with a... middle of paper... comfort, Stella and her husband only demoralized her more. Blanche thought she might find a man, and Stanley ruined everything. Ultimately, Stanley's rape brought her to rock bottom. The one person she thought she had wasn't there for her at all. All these incidents played an important role in making Blanche a tragic hero said that the best tragic plot takes the hero from prosperity to misfortune, caused not by depravity, but by some grave mistake he makes. He says that there are essential qualities of a tragic hero including goodness, appropriateness, realism and consistency Streetcar Named Desire is a great example of this type of tragic hero that Blanche proves to be too kind and too delicate to live in the world realistic.
