TimelineAct 1: Scene 1: At the beginning of the book, people take a vacation to celebrate Caesar's victory over Pompey in a civil war. They stand in the streets and wait for his arrival, and once he arrives in the city, they throw a big party. Scene 2: On the same day, Cesare attends a party and receives a warning from an old man who tells him to beware of the Ides of March. Later in the chapter Cassius tries to turn Brutus against Caesar. Later in the scene they agree to meet again to talk about Caesar. Scene 3: There is a huge thunderstorm at the beginning of the scene, and Cassius thinks it is a sign that Caesar must be killed. The two agree that Caesar must not be allowed to continue to rule and later discuss how they will kill Caesar. Act 2: Scene 1: Cassius sends a letter to Brutus saying he should kill Caesar for Rome, and then later in the act they meet to make final preparations. Cesare's wife thinks Cesare is hiding something and wants to know what's wrong. Scene 2: Caesar was planning to go to the Capitol, but Calpurnia tells him to stay home due to the many death threats and warnings they have received. Caesar stays at home with her, until Decius convinces him that he needs to be in the Capitol. Scene 3: Artemidorus finds a letter showing proof that many people will kill Caesar, he goes to the Capitol to find Caesar and show him the letter. But unfortunately, he fails to find Cesare in time. Scene 4: Portia sends her servants to see what is happening at the Capitol to make sure all is well with Caesar. Then she meets someone who tells her about the danger Caesar will face.
