However, it had its times, but starting in 46 BC Julius Caesar led Rome and led it into one of the most prosperous periods in its history. Caesar's military excellence brought more power and lands which led to an increase in the size and strength of Rome. His leadership contributed to the prosperity and stability of Rome. Julius Caesar was a born leader. His military experience and social and political reforms led him to become one of Rome's greatest rulers. Caesar's military prestige helped Rome grow into one of the world's greatest and most memorable civilizations. His campaigns helped Rome grow enormously. “His campaigns included one in which he took control of Egypt, Pontus, Gaul, Africa, and parts of Asia Minor1.” The growth of the empire in these regions helped Rome because it allowed them to gain more people to work, more land to grow crops, and the captured people joined their army and made Rome's army even stronger.
