IntroductionOur problem is about computer viruses but not just computer viruses but also their effect on hard drives. The effects of computer viruses on hard drives can be harmful and possibly irreparable. The effects of computer viruses on your hard drive depend on the computer virus and the damage it causes to your hard drive. One computer virus might do one thing to your hard drive while another virus might do something completely different. This is why we have designed a website that will help you search for a symptom and see which viruses match that specific symptom. You will be able to narrow down the options related to the virus you have and are affected by. This is critical because it narrows down the number of viruses you could have from the number of viruses in the world. Depending on the symptoms entered, the list decreases until the ideal problem/virus remains. This site may also work in reverse where you can search for a virus and observe its symptoms. This site will help with precautions that can and should be taken to avoid contracting viruses and spreading them. Research Overview: Computer viruses can delete files, cause slowdowns, cross-link files, change memory sizes, destroy hard drive systems, and freeze devices. The most common computer virus is “Trojan Virus”, Trojan virus is a virus sent to infect your device by stealing personal data by damaging the system hard drive. With every computer virus comes different symptoms. The symptoms of the Trojan horse virus, for example, are: deletion of programs and files on the hard disk, functioning as if controlled remotely, inadvertent installation of software. These are just some symptoms of a Trojan horse virus. A little... half a sheet... information about your personal life. This means that some viruses should have damaged your hard drive without being detected. Another thing I can learn from this project is that even though computer viruses are harmful, they can be very useful for obtaining information that you shouldn't be able to access, and can get you into a lot of trouble if caught creating one. I learned that a virus can attack your system's hard drive undetected, and it can be sent undetected by attaching itself to an email, message, or so on that you send, spreading throughout the world. Most of all I think that computer viruses are creative, even if they ruin your hard drive, and that someone should create a computer virus that is useful. I also think this was a very intriguing experience for me and I am happy that I chose this topic for my project.
