Topic > Effects of Cyberbullying - 717

For example, if a cyberbully were to send a private photo of you or a private conversation to someone at school or work, your reputation would become very poor. People at work or school would start calling you names or thinking differently of you. This would lead to someone not wanting to go back to school or work, causing them to fail classes or get fired from their job. Another negative effect of cyberbullying is that it puts someone in the position of using alcohol or drugs. With someone putting so much pressure on them, they are inclined to use things like alcohol or drugs as a way to deal with their emotions. This can lead to health problems, overdose or depression. Depression is one of the most common things to happen to someone when they are a victim of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying can easily bring down someone's self-esteem, causing them to be called fat or a monster. It can make someone feel very unsure of themselves, leading them to not want to talk to anyone, not go to school, or never leave their home.
